Demonstration
The system working exactly as it would on your own vehicle, day to day. It covers most of what people ring up to ask before they book.
How it works
Best for: anyone who wants the most widely recognised system — the one specialist insurers already know by name.
The Ghost II connects to your car's own data network and sits quietly in the background. Turn the ignition on and enter a sequence using buttons already in the cabin — the steering wheel controls, the indicator stalk, the window switches. Two flashes confirm it, and the car starts and drives exactly as it always did. Until that sequence is entered, it will not start for anybody.
Because there is no fob and no flashing LED, there is nothing on the car to find and nothing being broadcast for a thief to catch. It does not show up on a diagnostic tool either, so even someone who knows a Ghost might be fitted cannot locate it, let alone bypass it.
It is deliberately undramatic to live with. Service mode suspends the sequence while the car is in a workshop — you set it before you drop the car off and clear it by entering your sequence with the ignition on. Factory remote apps carry on working normally too, so InControl or FordPass will still pre-heat the car on a cold morning.
On eligible vehicles there is an optional phone app or Bluetooth tag, so the car recognises you and disarms as you get in. It costs a little more and it is genuinely optional — the sequence on its own is the most secure way to run it, because there is nothing at all to intercept. We will tell you whether your vehicle supports it when you send the registration.
Which cars? Fitted to almost anything with a CAN network — Land Rover and Range Rover, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Ford, VW group, Toyota and Lexus. Send us the registration and we will confirm your exact model against Autowatch's compatibility list before you book.
Warranty: Two years on the unit, plus lifetime support from us on the sequence.
The detail
The things people ring up to ask before booking — how the app behaves, what the subscription actually costs you, and what paperwork you end up with.
This is the first question almost everyone asks, and the answer is that it was designed for. The Ghost, Phantom and Microbot all have a service mode that suspends the disarm requirement so somebody can start and move the car without knowing your sequence. You switch it on before you drop the car off and clear it when you collect.
The Phantom's runs on a timer and expires by itself, which is the version we prefer — you cannot accidentally leave the car unprotected for a fortnight. On the Autoblok you would either leave a tag with the garage or hand over the PIN override.
Worth telling the garage it is fitted, even in service mode. A technician who knows there is an immobiliser on the car will not spend an hour chasing a non-existent starting fault.
It happens, usually after a fortnight abroad, and the emergency back-up code handed to you at installation is what gets you moving again.
Be clear about this bit, because it matters: we do not keep a copy of your sequence or your back-up code. Nobody here can look it up for you. That is deliberate — a code we held would be a code that could be obtained from us — but it does mean the paperwork you are given on the day is the only copy that exists. Photograph it, store it with your V5 and your insurance documents, and keep it away from the car.
You can change the sequence whenever you like — after a house move, a relationship ending, or handing the car to a young driver. On the Phantom you can do it yourself from your phone. On the others, bring the car to us. If both the sequence and the back-up code are gone, ring us anyway: it becomes a job rather than a phone call, but it is recoverable.
Tell them it is fitted. Not because you have to justify it, but because some policies reduce the premium once there is an immobiliser on the car, and it is one less thing to argue about after a claim.
Be careful with the word Thatcham. Categories S5 and S7 describe tracking systems, not immobilisers, so an immobiliser being 'Thatcham approved' is usually somebody being loose with language. What the systems carry instead is TASSA verification, and we log your installation on the TASSA database in your name — that is the documentation an underwriter asks for.
Send us your insurer's wording before you book. If what they have asked for is a tracker rather than an immobiliser, we would rather tell you that now than after fitting.
We come to your home or workplace anywhere around Milton Keynes and the surrounding towns. Allow two to three hours. You keep the car and lose a morning rather than a day.
On the CAN-based systems nothing is cut, drilled or spliced — the unit connects to wiring already running through the car, and it can be removed later with no trace. The Autoblok is the exception: it interrupts the engine start circuit, so that one is a wiring connection, made properly and reversibly.
When the trim goes back on there is nothing to see. No LED, no keypad, no extra fob. Somebody sitting in the driver's seat would have no way of knowing. That is not a styling decision — a system a thief can spot is a system a thief can plan around.
Before we leave, you choose your sequence, we set up service mode, and we run through it until you are comfortable with it. Then we are on the end of the phone for as long as you own the car.
What customers say
Had my Mercedes C180 in with Kaine to replace both front suspension springs. I knew that this was not an easy job on this car. Dropped the car off in the morning and it was ready that afternoon. He did an amazing job and I'll be recommending him to friends and family for any work that they need doing. 5 stars!
Had my Audi S3 in for a complete overhaul — Kaine supplied and fitted all the parts, including cam belt, water pump, a full service and a balance shaft delete. He also noticed one of my rear callipers was sticking, so recommended and fitted a new calliper and new rear discs and pads too. A 5 star service — I'll only use Kaine from now on for any mechanical work.
Exceptional experience with Kaine. Came out to me, took my car and fixed it all within two hours. Very impressed and will definitely call him if needed again. Great price.
Fast mobile installation
Send us the registration. We confirm exactly what fits your vehicle and what it costs fitted, before you commit to anything.
We call to arrange a time and place that suits you — at home, or at work while the car sits in the car park.
Your installer arrives fully equipped and works at the vehicle. Most fits take two to four hours, with nothing cut, drilled or left on show.
We set it up with you and stay until you can use it confidently. Your manufacturer warranty is unaffected and it can be removed later without a trace.
All three layers on an S7 budget: the Ghost stops the theft, the S7 tracks it, the Halo Pro records everything else. Fitted in one visit, which is where the saving comes from — the hardware is the same either way.
Works well with
Each of these covers something the others cannot. Fitted in the same visit they cost less than booking them separately — ask and we will price the combination.

Vehicle Trackers
Step up to S5. Driver recognition tags mean the car knows the difference between you driving it and someone else taking it.

Dashcams
Road Angel's flagship. 4K front and Full HD rear on Sony Starvis 2 sensors at both ends — the best night footage in the range by a distance.
Questions
You choose it with us on the day. Most people settle on four or five presses — short enough to be quick at a petrol station, long enough that nobody is guessing it. It can be changed later at no charge if you ever want to.
It uses buttons your hands are near anyway, so from outside the car it looks like you are adjusting the stereo or the mirrors. There is no keypad and no screen prompt to give it away.
Not in the way a tracker is, and anyone telling you otherwise is being loose with the word. Thatcham categories S5 and S7 apply to tracking systems. The Ghost II is TASSA verified, and your installation is logged on the TASSA database — that is the paperwork insurers ask for on an immobiliser. Send your underwriter's wording to us and we will confirm in writing whether it satisfies them before you book.
On eligible vehicles, yes — there is an optional app or Bluetooth tag that disarms the car as you approach. It is worth knowing that the sequence on its own is the more secure option, because a tag is one more thing that can be lost or, in principle, picked up. We fit either, and will give you a straight opinion for your car.
No. It draws a tiny amount of current, far less than the car's own alarm and locking. If the vehicle is going to be laid up for months we can talk you through the best way to store it.
You use the emergency back-up code that was handed to you when it was fitted — that is exactly what it is for. Keep it somewhere safe and away from the car. We do not hold a copy of your sequence or your code, so that slip of paper is the one thing we cannot replace for you: photograph it and store it with your important documents, not in the glovebox.
No. It connects to the car's existing network — nothing is cut, drilled or spliced — and it can be removed later with no trace. Manufacturers and insurers expect to see exactly this kind of installation.
Yes. We fit at your home or workplace anywhere around Milton Keynes, so you keep the car and lose nothing more than a couple of hours.
